 Green River Plantation was built in 1804. The Green River house is a
magnificent nineteenth century mansion resting on 366 acres that reflects all the refinement of
the old south. |

Rutherfordton Outdoor Coalition was incorporated in
May of 2003 as a private non-profit organization
whose mission is to promote outdoor recreation
in Rutherford County. ROC offers regular outings
including hiking, paddling, cycling, running and
more. Most of our outings are free and open to
anyone. |

Rutherford County Heritage Center is an exhibit of the most
significant events in Rutherford County's history. Information and stories
of the Bechtler Mint, Gilbert Town, Over mountain Men and the Revolutionary War, Civil
War, textiles, historic photographs, artifacts and videos as well as information for other area

Cherry Bounce Trail, an historic byway in Rutherford County,
North Carolina is filled with natural beauty, historic sites and the memories of old-time moon
shiners who frequented these hills and valleys years ago. The Cherry Bounce Trail is created
and presented by the Leadership Rutherford Class of 2006 Isothermal Community College. |
Remember Cliffside tucked in the southeastern corner of Rutherford County,
North Carolina along the Second Broad River. What's left of the village of
Cliffside is dedicated to preserving the memories and lore of the little mill town. |

Museum of Rutherford Hospital was created to record and preserve the
Hospital's heritage. The artifacts in the
collection were actually used at Rutherford
Hospital. The design features vignettes that
showcase several areas of hospital life,
including the 1906 Surgical Room, Nursing School
and patient rooms. |

KidSenses Children's InterACTIVE Museum
is dedicated to interactive learning,
enhancing classroom education with
hands-on fun. The Museum seeks to
provide an environment where children
from birth to ten years old and adults
are given a unique opportunity to play,

Rutherford County Visual
Artists Center is
the project of the non-profit Rutherford Visual
Artists Guild with more than 50 members. The
center houses the Guild Gallery, Gift Shop,
studio space for members and classroom space for
workshops and instruction. On display and
available for purchase are paintings in all
mediums, ceramics, wood carving, sculpture,
fused and stained glass, metal work, hand made
furniture, fiber art and other creations of
talented Rutherford County Guild members. |

Blue Moon Gallery,
located just minutes away
from Shelby, Rutherfordton, Forest City and
Boiling Springs, NC, is part
of the soon-to-be thriving artist community
located on Main St, Cliffside, right off NC
221-A midway between the Cowpens National
Battlefield and Forest City. |

The Gallery
offers custom framing, fine art and craft. Located in
historic downtown Rutherfordton. the quaint
building is one of the oldest in town. The
Gallery is listed in the HandMade in America
guide book and focuses primarily on American
made pieces, including local, regional and
national work. All custom framing is completed
in house, in the frame shop in the back of the
