A well maintained allows a long climb to both lower and upper falls. The climb is strenuous but the rewards are great. There are benches along the way to take a break.   Linville Caverns - Deep beneath Humpback Mountain, nature has sculpted a masterpiece in stone carved by many centuries of slowly moving ground water. The result is an incredible series of rooms, passages and  spectacular formations.  Grandfather Mountain  Towering 5,946 feet above northwest North Carolina, Grandfather Mountain is one of the world's most environmentally diverse nature preserves. The Mile-high Swinging Bridge, Wildlife Habitats, Nature Walk and Hiking Trails make Grandfather Mountain a "must do" for any mountain vacation.
