NC_Fly_Fishing NC Fishing The North Carolina mountains offer fishing on rivers, streams, lakes and ponds. NC Fishing Regulations are provided FREE to the public either online or in booklet form. Western North Carolina is an exceptional trout fishing haven with an estimated 4,000 miles of trout water and approximately 2,000 miles are managed for public fishing. Fly fishing in a North Carolina mountain stream is enjoyed equally by experienced fishermen and beginners alike. NC Trout waters are designated as Hatchery Supported Waters, Delayed Harvest Waters, Wild Trout Waters, and Catch and Release Waters. NC Waterfalls  There are thousands of incredible waterfalls throughout Western North Carolina, with most easily accessible by well-maintained footpaths.  There are over 250 waterfalls in Transylvania County alone, known as "the land of the waterfalls", with many located within the Pisgah National Forest, Dupont State Forest and Gorges State Park.  Virtually every NC river begins or ends with NC waterfalls.
