Weaverville
North Carolina and the Reems Creek Valley have been a
beacon to yearning souls since pioneers began settling in what was still
Cherokee territory in the 1700s. The natural beauty of the area, the healthful
climate and its proximity to Asheville’s urban attractions ( its only 10 miles
to the north) have made
Weaverville the perfect blend of small town and big city. Like
Asheville, Weaverville in the 1800s was home to grand hotels, such as the Dula
Springs Hotel and Blackberry Lodge, where Low Country visitors could escape the
heat and pestilence of Southern summers. |

Ann Vasilik.
"Control of spontaneity is one of the contradictions of watercolor
for me. The
transparency of the washes bringing solid objects to life is the other.
Each painting strives to have something distinctive to say about my
personal vision. Bold use of color and brush work with enhanced
space and light achieve a heightened realism". Ann

Maggie B's
Wine and Specialty Store. Maggie
B’s is Weaverville’s
first ever wine and specialty food store. But, despite what most
people think, Maggie B is not the owner. She is actually Elspeth and
Andy’s 6-year old, yellow Labrador retriever. In her honor, we do
offer dog parking outside, refreshments (water bowl), and doggie
treats. So, if you’re just walking around downtown Weaverville, or
getting ready to take your pooch on a hike, stop in and grab some
treats for yourself and your four legged friend! Maggie B’s sells
wine, beer, meats, cheeses, cigars, wine accessories, and a little
of everything else. We carry wines from smaller vineyards that you
are not going to find at the grocery store. The wines are from all
over the world: South Africa, Uruguay, France, New Zealand, and
more. You will also find a wide selection of organic wines, which
can be beneficial for people who have problems with the
preservatives in wine. Maggie
