Maggie Valley
North Carolina is nestled in the smoky mountains
near Cherokee and adjacent to Waynesville. Its main industry is tourism and it
is located 3 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway and 20 miles from the Great Smoky
Mountains National Park. After dark the streets of Maggie Valley and downtown Waynesville
come alive with country music, shopping, dancing and special events scheduled
throughout the year. Maggie Mae Setzer, for whom Maggie Valley was names,
was born in 1890 in a small log cabin that still stands (in altered form) at the
foot of Setzer Mountain. |

Miss Caroline's
Country Wedding Chapel. Miss Caroline's Smokey Mountain Wedding
Chapel was built in 1992. It was
originally a traveler's chapel dedicated to Maggie Valley tourists for
prayer and worship. Couples desiring to be married found the chapel so
quaint and cozy that it soon became necessary for a minister to be on call
just to perform ceremonies. So in 1995, Burton and Caroline Edwards put
together an array of packages to accommodate these requests. Here's to
those couples and 12 years of wonderful weddings! Miss
Caroline's COuntry Wedding Chapel site.
