Dillsboro North Carolina is now
a village of 200 residents, known not for mining and logging, but for fine
artists and craftsmen. The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad makes
Dillsboro its home base, and carries hundreds of thousands of excursion
passengers out of the Dillsboro depot each year. There are special
festivals and events throughout the year and its proximity to The Great Smoky
Mountains National Park and other nearby attractions make it a popular
destination.

Dillsboro’s Jarrett House
has hosted travelers from all over the
world for more than 120 years. The Jarrett House hospitality and good food are a western North Carolina
tradition.
The inn opened in 1884 as the Mount Beulah Hotel. Dillsboro was founded
soon after in 1888, when the arrival of the Western North Carolina
Railroad created an economic boom. The Jarrett House was a popular stop in
those days for railroad trains traveling the line between Asheville and
