Lake Tomahawk.
Just a few blocks from town in our quaint city park, Lake Tomahawk offers
a well lighted level .55 mile path for safe strolling , running or dog
walking day or evening. The only noise one might encounter on their walk
is the quacking of spoiled wild duck who demands cracked corn from the
grain bin placed near the parking lot. Adjacent to the lake are open
lighted tennis courts, a children's playground, benches and picnic tables
and a community pool, open Memorial day through Labor Day.

GREAT SOUTHEASTERN
HIKING FESTIVAL. MAY Booths of artists, crafters and food
vendors will line up along Sutton Avenue from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. for this
fun-filled, non-alcoholic street festival. The festival will provide
information on hiking safety, conservation and more." The one-day
event is in conjunction with a four-day national conference presented by

annual Sourwood Festival (AUGUST) is always a hit with

"Castle" was built in 1895 by George Vanderbuilt and is preserved

maintained today by his descendants. With interior square footage over 4 acres,

THE BLUERIDGE PARKWAY.
At 469 miles long the Parkway is the

Old Depot Association, a non-profit and volunteer organization, was
started in 1976 to protect and maintain the 100 year old train depot and
