AREA ARTISTS, ART GALLERIES |
Crossnore
Weavers & Gallery. Women would weave their rugs and
clothes on looms in a special building at Crossnore, and sell
their wares from the site. They would pass on their tradition to
young Crossnore residents in the process. Today weavers still ply
their craft and visitors the nation over marvel at their skills. |
The
Art Cellar Gallery Established
in 1993 in the Western North Carolina Mountain community of Banner
Elk, The Art Cellar Gallery began as the lifelong vision of Pamela
McKay. Having grown up in the area, she appreciates and
understands the correlation between the beauty of North Carolina's
natural environment to the artistic inspiration it gives area
artists. Constantly envisioning a gallery of her own, Pamela
sought to concentrate on showing the artwork of those who were
indigenous to the immediate region. |
Carlton
Gallery. Carlton Gallery celebrates 24 years as the
largest, most established gallery in the High Country. Widest
variety of fine art
and upscale handmade crafts. Over 300 artisans. Situated under the
gaze of Grandfather Mountain between Boone and Banner Elk on
Highway 105. |
