ASHEVILLE
North Carolina - the city in the sky
Asheville NC is
situated on a plateau in the Blue Ridge Mountains
and rests at an altitude of 2300' feet, nestled between more than
100 mountain peaks above 5,000' feet. Within view is Mt. Mitchell, the highest
point east of the Mississippi River. Asheville ranks 13th in the nation for art
galleries and the influence of so much creative spirit is felt throughout this
remarkable "city in the sky". More than 100 years ago George
Vanderbilt chose Asheville as the location for his "American
Castle". He believed it was the ideal place. And today, the nearly one
million annual visitors to the Biltmore Estate apparently agree. Asheville's
historic downtown continues to undergo renovations and additions from outdoor
cafes to cultural centers.

wisdom, the Earth herself and the animals we share this planet with..
