Andrews
North Carolina is located in a
serene valley in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains approximately 90 miles southwest of Asheville, 85 miles south of Knoxville
and 75 miles east of Chattanooga and 130 miles north of Atlanta.
There is something quite
spectacular, even spiritual, about mountains and the mountains surrounding
Andrews form a
particularly lovely valley. Andrews is framed by the Snowbirds on
the north, the Valley River mountains on the south and the Nantahala's on
the East. Andrews
is in Cherokee County close to Murphy and Marble. Lake Hiawassi and
Nantahala Forest offer endless outdoor adventures. Andrews is rich in Cherokee Indian history as well as that of the European
settlers from the Elizabethan era. If you want a quiet small town getaway
for water activities, hiking or just peace and quiet, Cherokee County will meet
your needs. There is virtually no hustle and bustle
or nightlife. |

Cherokee Heritage Trail. From
the serene peaks of the Balsams to the muddy banks of the Little Tennessee
River, Cherokee Heritage
Trails wind through the southern Appalachians, telling the story of the
Cherokee people, Ani-Kituhwa-gi, who once commanded all of the Southern
Appalachians. Although most of the Cherokee were forcibly removed to
Oklahoma on the Trail of Tears in 1838, a small group remained in their
homeland, becoming the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Today they own
about 57,000 acres - the Qualla Boundary, a remnant of their ancestral
lands. SHOP ONLINE. Cherokee

Andrews Valley Artist's
Gallery. For me, there is
a tranquil energy that radiates throughout soft watercolor washes. My
intention is for the viewer to feel this energy which is found in the
beauty of nature and people. These special qualities- of light in serene

Appalachian Rivers Raft
Company The Nantahala is
Western North Carolina’s
most scenic river for whitewater rafting in the Smokies — eight miles of
rugged mountain beauty interrupted by twenty stretches of Class II
rapids, beginning with “Patton’s Run” and ending with the Class III
beast, “Lesser Wesser.” While the “Nanny” is a river to be
respected, it is not fearsome. Its rapids provide training for Olympic
kayakers and thrills for paddlers from age 7 to 70 alike. Appalachian
